It aims to be a refreshing day for the streets Hans Schoeman and President Fouche in Bromhof with the assistance of 110 ASEZ volunteers from Johannesburg, Pretoria and Vanderbijl Park, joined by South Korean members, says the Volunteer Group.

The volunteers, will be supported and joined by Ralf Bittkau, Ward 101 Coucillor and Community Heroes who assist by providing tools, security and pizza, picking up litter, cut overgrown shrubs and plants, and properly cleaned up the area in a significant effort towards a clean and healthy environment and in response to climate change, adds the Volunteer Group.

ASEZ is an international University Student Volunteer Group from the World Mission Society Church of God, which is carrying out volunteer services in 178 countries around the world, under the slogan, "Save the Earth from A to Z," says the Volunteer Group.

ASEZ aims to to solve practical problems worldwide through various environmental and forest clean-ups, biodiversity conservation, forest fire prevention and campaigns in promoting environmental awareness to create a global forest ecosystem and combating climate change and in over 7 800 locations globally, adds the Volunteer Group.

Councillor Bittkau, who is a champion supporter of the volunteers in Johannesburg, expresses his gratitude to the volunteers. "It's always great to see you and you know that you are always welcome here. Thank you so much for the great work you do for the community and to protect the environment. I'm deeply thankful."

The activity is part of one of ASEZ's current global campaigns, 'Zero Plastic 2040', aiming at raising awareness about the pollution caused by single-use plastics and encouraging young people to actively participate in sustainable development efforts. ASEZ has held forums under this theme at different locations globally, universities in countries such as the United States, Germany, Indonesia, the Philippines and Mexico, and recently, Pretoria, says the Volunteer Group.

Thando Matutu, ASEZ member, says that all of these campaigns come from Mother's love, and this event is to contribute in eliminating plastic by 2040. "As ASEZ, we are just protecting the environment and caring for the community with Mother's love. And we're here today for this event to do our bit to eliminate plastic by 2040."

The local community is happy to see South Korean ASEZ members in their neighborhood who cherish their communities as their own. The ASEZ Korean university members regularly visit the country, and worldwide, to lend a helping hand to local members, and have been working in a strong bond with the local students to amplify the voices of youth around the world and urge global collective actions for a better future, concludes the Volunteer Group.
