Bringing together approximately 80 companies, the annual event aimed to transform the golf course, bowls field, padel courts and sponsor village into a day of sport, entertainment, creativity and fundraising, before culminating in an evening celebration and charity auction, says the station.

Every element of the day, from the hole activations to the teams competing on the golf course, bowls field and padel court, was designed to raise funds for the Good Morning Angels Fund, enabling the station to assist South Africans facing extreme hardship and medical emergencies.

"We are incredibly grateful to every company, sponsor, participant, partner and individual who contributed to this year's Good Morning Angels Golf Day," says Vuyani Dombo, Managing Director of Jacaranda FM. "R5.5-million is an extraordinary achievement, but what makes it particularly meaningful is what that money represents."

"It represents hope, dignity and tangible support for people who are going through some of the most difficult moments of their lives. The generosity and creativity shown throughout the day was a powerful reminder of what can happen when our community comes together behind a common purpose," adds Dombo.

The Good Morning Angels Golf Day

The Good Morning Angels Golf Day has become one of the biggest dates on Jacaranda FM's annual calendar, aimed at bringing together the station's business partners, clients, listeners and supporters for a day where fundraising and fun go hand in hand.

This year, approximately 80 companies contributed to the experience across the golf course, bowls field, padel courts, sponsor village, prize-giving ceremony and auction. The result aimed to be a day packed with creativity and entertainment, says the station. 

The event's "best hole activation" went to Sabat and Midas, whose "activation" featured superbikes performing tricks and live entertainment. The activation also raised approximately R20 000 for Good Morning Angels through a raffle. 

In the Sponsor Village, Skill Set Solutions took the prize for the best participation, while the evening charity auction raised a further R650 000 for the Good Morning Angels Fund, says the station.

The auction was hosted by comedian Nicholas Goliath, with guests also experiencing live performances from Stephanie Baartman and Demi-Lee Moore, adds the station.

A night-golf "nearest-to-the-pin" competition added another R80 000 to the fundraising total.

The Impact Continues Long After the Golf Day

Good Morning Angels has spent years aiming to respond to the stories of ordinary South Africans going through extraordinary circumstances, the fund exists to step in when help is needed most.

The R5.5-million raised this year aims to allow Good Morning Angels can continue answering those calls, says the station.

For Jacaranda FM's Martin Bester, host of the popular Breakfast With Martin Bester, the R5.5-million raised is a reminder of the generosity of the Jacaranda FM community.

"The R5.5 million raised through this year's Good Morning Angels Golf Day is such a strong reminder of how lucky we are to have a network of companies, people and listeners who continue to be so generous, even during incredibly challenging times," says Bester.

"When you listen to Good Morning Angels on a Wednesday morning, you are reminded of the incredible difference that can be made when people decide to step in and help someone who really needs it. So, to everyone who took part in the golf day, thank you, thank you very much. We are incredibly humbled and grateful for the support."

"The creativity of the activations this year was also next level. I stood at some of those holes and honestly got goosebumps," adds Bester. "Ultimately, though, all the fun and entertainment comes back to one thing: raising money to help people."

"Knowing that the R5.5-million raised will help us make a difference through Good Morning Angels makes this day so incredibly special. We cannot thank everyone who showed up, supported us, donated and gave their time enough," says Bester.

Every Wednesday morning, listeners hear the stories of people who need a helping hand. The fund allows Jacaranda FM, together with its network of Angels, with their aim to turn those stories into action, adds the station.

Every rand raised from this year's Good Morning Angels Golf Day contributes to the Good Morning Angels Fund, which aims to enable Jacaranda FM to assist individuals and families whose lives have been impacted by circumstances ranging from medical emergencies and serious illness to other life-changing challenges, says the station.

The R5.5-million raised this year will aim to help ensure that the Good Morning Angels team can continue answering the call when people need a little help, concludes the station.
