Clover Mama Afrika supports its Mamas in learning about food gardens through hands-on, practical training that equips them to grow nutritious vegetables even in limited spaces, says the project.

The programme includes short, intensive food-garden courses that cover planning and maintaining gardens, water-wise practices, organic pest control and the nutritional value of home-grown produce. After the training, Mamas receive starter packs such as seeds and basic gardening tools to help them put their learning into practice immediately, adds the project.

Importantly, the initiative encourages knowledge-sharing, with Mamas passing these skills on to others in their communities, helping to improve food security, promote self-sufficiency and create opportunities for small-scale income generation through surplus produce, concludes the project.
