Rainbow Chicken remains committed to its aim of making a meaningful and lasting social impact in the communities where it operates. One such community is Mkhambathini Local Municipality, home to Cosmoore Primary School, situated on Ingomankulu Road along the B7 and B8 route, says the company.

Recently, Cosmoore Primary School experienced a significant setback when strong winds destroyed one of its classrooms. As a result, learners were forced to share a single classroom, placing pressure on both educators and learners and compromising the learning environment, adds the company.

Recognising the urgency of the situation, Rainbow's KwaZulu-Natal team assisted by renovating the damaged classroom. The renovation aims to provide much-needed relief to the school and restored a safe, supportive and conducive learning space for learners. This intervention aims to ensure that teaching and learning could continue with dignity, stability and renewed confidence, says the company.

In addition to the classroom renovation, they aimed to further support the school by joining the "Rainbow Back-to-School" initiative and donated school shoes to learners from Grade R through to Grade 7, based on individual need, adds the comapany.

The team also hands over gardening tools to support the school's sustainability efforts. These tools were donated by DTS, one of Rainbow Chicken's service providers. The donated equipment included a brush cutter machine, spades, rakes and a garden fork, which aim to assist the school in maintaining its grounds and strengthening its gardening initiatives, says the company.

"While we are proud to have supported Cosmoore Primary School during a time of need, our approach to social investment goes beyond a single project. We are intentionally adopting a broader and more sustainable approach to community development, focused on identifying and investing in initiatives that uplift, empower and create long-term value in the areas where we do business," says Alan Reddy, Agriculture Executive, KZN.

"We express our heartfelt gratitude to Rainbow Chicken for renovating our Grade 7 classroom after it was destroyed by strong winds, just before the June 2025 exams. After struggling for assistance through formal channels, our request to Rainbow became an unexpectedly answered prayer," says K.L Ndlovu, Principal of Cosmoore Primary School.

"We thank Rainbow for listening to our plea, for the classroom renovation, the donation of shoes and gardening tools, and for taking the time to support our learners and community," adds Ndlovu.

Through partnerships, interventions and ongoing engagement, Rainbow Chicken continues its aim to build stronger communities one project at a time, concludes the company.
